EASTON, Pa. -- Coming off Lafayette's home-opening 24-3 win over Columbia, the Leopards brought home a pair of Patriot League football weekly awards.
Freshman DL
Jaylon Joseph made his second start of the season and recorded three tackles with a half sack to garner Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors. Joseph helped the Leopards limit Columbia to 157 yards of total offense.
Classmate
Jack Simonetta secured Special Teams Player of the Week laurels, connecting on his first career field goal, a 34-yarder in the fourth quarter. Simonetta has inserted himself into the starting kicker role, making 1-of-2 field goals on the season and 5-of-6 PAT.
Joseph and Simonetta join
Michael Vaughn as weekly award winners in 2023. Vaughn was the conference
