EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette women's soccer secured a 1-0 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday night in Patriot League action at Gummeson Grounds: Home of Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium. Senior
Sara Oswald came through with the game-winner in the first half, scoring her team-leading fourth goal of the season, as Lafayette improved to 2-0 in conference play.
After a back-and-forth start to the match, Lafayette struck in the 32
nd minute. A Lehigh defensive miscue sent the ball directly to Oswald on the right side of the box. Oswald acrobatically rocketed a shot to the far left corner of the goal, that sailed past the outstretched Lehigh goalkeeper and gave the Maroon and White a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Lafayette's defense continued to excel, holding the Mountain Hawks to just three shots in 45 minutes. The Leopards continued to control time of possession, sealing their 1-0 victory while closing out their three-match homestand.
Lafayette ended the evening with three shots, one of which was on goal. Lehigh had five shots, with one on goal. Both the Leopards and the Mountain Hawks were awarded four corners each. Oswald led the Leopards with two shots, one of which was on goal, and freshman
Nadia Zaffanella had one shot.

Lindsay Dewar started the match for Lafayette and played the full 90 minutes, recording her fourth shutout of the year, and was credited with one save. Her Lehigh counterpart, Maggie Ousouljoglou, also played 90 minutes.
The Leopards travel to Baltimore, Md. on Saturday to take on Loyola at 2 p.m.
