EASTON, Pa.- The Lafayette volleyball team fell in four sets (25-17, 25-23, 25-21, 25-13) at the hands of Bucknell on Saturday night at Kirby Sports Center.
Bucknell took the first set with Catherine Jamison leading the way with five kills. Lafayette fought its way back, but a 3-0 run from Bucknell ended the set in its favor.
The Maroon and White got off to a hot start to begin the second set. A kill from junior
Nina Kernan and a pair of attack errors from the Bison, gave the Leopards a 3-0 lead. With the set tied at 22 apiece, sophomore
Hannah Ehrich-Pollock tallied a kill to give Lafayette the lead. Bucknell ended up taking the second following attack errors from the Leopards.
Down 2-0, Lafayette rallied in the third set. The Leopards led 20-19 before kills from Ehrich-Pollock and and Kernan extended their lead to three. Sophomore
Carol Ulichney ended the set with a kill assisted by junior
Anna Penman.
Bucknell claimed the final set 25-13 to secure the 3-1 match victory.Â
The Leopards are back in action on Sunday, hosting archrival Lehigh at 4 p.m. at Kirby Sports Center.
