Leopard Softball Announces 2024 Schedule

Slate includes tournaments in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Maryland

EASTON, Pa. — The Lafayette softball program has released its 2024 schedule which features 44 games, including tournaments in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Maryland.

Coached by Karavin Dew, who is in her second season, the team is slated to open 2024 in mid-February when it travels to Tarleton State in Stephenville, Texas for the Whataburger Invitational. The Leopards will take on Mississippi Valley State, Tarleton State, Buffalo and Idaho State on Feb. 16-18.

Lafayette then ventures to Gainesville, Fla. for the University of Florida T-Mobile Tournament, where it will play Illinois-Chicago, Colgate and two games against the host Gators.

To begin the month of March, the Maroon and White will head to Chapel Hill, N.C. for five games at the University of North Carolina March Madness tournament on Mar. 1-3. The Leopards open with Campbell and Rider on the first day, face Rutgers and Rider on day two and then close out the southern swing with the hosts on March 3.

Lafayette heads home to Easton for a doubleheader against Le Moyne on Mar. 13 with the first pitch slated for noon. The Leopards wrap up their in-season tournament play at the University of Maryland Softball Tournament on March 15-17, playing four games against Bryant, Purdue Fort Wayne, Fairfield and Maryland.

The Maroon and White open their Patriot League schedule by hosting Bucknell for a three-game series on Mar. 23 (Youth Day) and Mar. 24 (Alumni Game). Lafayette then goes to Drexel for a mid-week doubleheader on Mar. 26 before heading back home for four straight. The Leopards host Colgate on Mar. 30-31 before welcoming Monmouth for a single game on Apr. 3 (Faculty/Staff Day).

Patriot League play continues on Apr. 13-14, when the Leopards travel to Army for a three-game series before heading to rival Lehigh on Apr. 20-21. Lafayette will then return to College Hill for a five-game homestand, taking on reigning conference champ Boston U. in a three-game series on Apr. 27-28. The Sunday finale will serve as the program's Senior Day.  The Leopards wrap up non-league play with a doubleheader vs. Marist on May 1.

The regular season concludes with a three-game series at Holy Cross, before the Patriot League Tournament on May 9-11.
