HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Lafayette women's soccer team played a hard-fought Patriot League battle on Saturday night in Hamilton, N.Y., falling to Colgate, 2-1, at Beyer-Small Field.
Colgate jumped out in front in the 12th minute, when Ari Bezanson blasted a long-range straight-on strike to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Jordan Juetten was credited with an assist.
Colgate played a solid first half defensively, holding Lafayette to just one shot by senior

Catherine Apker had a strong showing, stopping four Colgate shots in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, Lafayette tied the match in the 79

Nadia Zaffanella headed the ball into the the back of the goal to tie the score, 1-1. The goal was Zaffanella's third of the season.
Colgate responded in just 114 seconds to take back the lead in the 81
st minute. Bezanson's second goal of the match made the tally 2-1, proving to be the final.
Lafayette concluded the evening with five shots (two on goal), while Colgate had 13 (six on goal). Apker played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Leopards, recording four saves.
Next up for the Leopards is Senior Day, when they host Bucknell at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
