EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette men's lacrosse team defeated Drexel 8-7 to earn its second consecutive win Tuesday evening inside Fisher Stadium.
Witt Crawford gave the Dragons an early lead at the 13:22 mark in the first quarter. The Leopards responded by scoring back-to-back goals thanks to senior captains
Peter Lehman and
John Mathes. The Dragons scored two unanswered goals, taking a 3-2 lead after 15 minutes in Easton.

Liam Sargent all found the back of the net in the second quarter. Max Semple and Zach Augustine scored for Drexel, leaving the score at 5 goals apiece heading into the intermission.
The third quarter favored the Maroon and White. Senior midfielder
Connor Freeman found Lehman in stride to open the second-half scoring. With three seconds left on the clock, Mathes completed his hat trick to give Lafayette a two-goal cushion (7-5)  at the end of at the end of three quarters.
Drexel scored early into the final quarter, but a big goal at the 12:19 mark by freshman
Jack Massotto sealed the victory for the Leopards. The Dragons would get a seventh goal, but Lafayette's sound defense in crunch time earned the Leopards their second victory of the 2024 campaign.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Joe Doherty made his third start of the season, making 17 saves in the victory.
Drexel edged Lafayette 10-19 in faceoffs, with junior
Evan Prince going 9-18 on the evening.
The Leopards are back at Fisher Stadium at 12 p.m. on Saturday to face Binghamton.
