EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette freshman Regan Dillon has been named the Patriot League Softball Rookie of the Week coming off of the Leopards' first weekend of competition.
 
Dillon hit for a .600 clip out of the middle of the lineup, batting cleanup for the Maroon and White in four of five games at the Tarleton State Whataburger Invitational in Stephenville, Texas.
 
In her collegiate debut, Dillon went 3-for-4 against Mississippi Valley State while starting at first base. In a 4-2 win over Buffalo, Dillon was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Playing in her home state, the Argyle, Texas native was 2-for-3 with an RBI in a 3-0 win over Tarleton State on Saturday.  
 
Dillon started five games for the Leopards in the three-day tournament, playing first base in four contests while getting behind the plate in the initial matchup with the hosts.
 
Lafayette plays its second tournament in as many weekends, traveling to the University of Florida T-Mobile Tournament beginning on Friday.
