Makayla Andrews both finished with eight points in the team's 75-49 defeat to Colgate on Wednesday evening.
Tiasia McMillan dropped in 18 points for the Raiders, while adding four rebounds and two assists.
Colgate came out of the gate scorching hot, opening the scoring with a 10-0 run. Andrews cut the deficit to six points with 4:51 to go in the first quarter, after finishing a layup in traffic. At the end of the first quarter, the Leopards trailed 18-6.
The Raiders kept their momentum going in the second quarter, outscoring Lafayette 16-11. McMillan's 14 first-half points and the teams few turnovers propelled them to a 34-17 lead at the intermission.
The teams exchanged buckets in the third quarter. Lafayette finally got going, but the Raiders had an answer for each Leopard score. With 4:02 remaining in the quarter, Colgate went on a 4-2 run to take a 51-32 lead with 10 minutes to go in Hamilton.
Colgate's 24 fourth-quarter points allowed the hosts to close out their 14
th win of the season. The Raiders went 8-for-12 from the field and 3-for-4 from downtown in the final period. The Leopards shot 53.8 percent from the floor, but couldn't halt the opposition.
Lafayette was out-rebounded 35-22 by Colgate which had 15 more assists than the Maroon and White.
Lafayette is back in a action at 7:30 p.m. as it travels across town to take on rival Lehigh in Bethlehem.
