EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's lacrosse team was bested by Bryant, 15-7, on a rainy Saturday morning in Fisher Stadium.
Junior attacker
Sara Rogers led the squad with a hat trick and an assist for four points, bringing her season total to a team second-best 11 points.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 4-2 lead after the first quarter. Lafayette's tallies came from
Olivia Hover and Rogers.
Bryant continued to forge ahead using the offensive momentum of a 3-0 second period for a 7-4 advantage at the halftime break. Riley O'Mara and leading scorer Kenna Kaut each posted two goals for the opponent in the first half of play.
Lafayette halted Bryant's unanswered eight-goal streak, which persisted over three quarters, and equalized the Bulldogs' three goals in the third period with scores by Rogers (2) and
Haleigh Albrecht to trail 10-5.
Bryant concluded the afternoon by taking the upper hand in a 5-2 final period.
The Bulldogs held the advantage in ground balls (28-16), shots (37-17) and clears (19-19 to 16-20). Lafayette grabbed 14 draw controls to Bryant's 11.

Lexie Coldiron made 12 saves while her counterpart, Sam Centofante, made seven.
Next up, the Leopards travel to Delaware on Wednesday. Opening draw is slated for 3 p.m.
