WEST POINT, N.Y. - Lafayette was bested by Army, 17-4, during a near-constant downpour on Saturday afternoon in Michie Stadium.
The Leopards had multiple scorers on the board with one point apiece:
Kristin Igneri,
Abby Romano,
Kendra Daly,
Sophia Spallone and
Emma Elmen.
The Black Knights were commanded by Brigid Duffy and Allison Reilly with eight points. Duffy netted seven goals and one assist to Reilly's three goals and five assists.
Igneri kicked off scoring for the Leopards at 6:16 in the first quarter. Five minutes later, Romano tallied the game-tying goal, 2-2 at 1:26. Army's Duffy netted a free position shot just before the break to lead 3-2 after the first period.
The Black Knights outscored Lafayette 5-1 in the second quarter, earning rights to an 8-3 advantage at the halftime break. Daly, assisted by Elmen, was credited with the lone goal at 10:38 for the Maroon and White.
With five unanswered goals during the third period, Army continued along an 8-0 run, staying out of reach, 13-3, going into the final 15 minutes of play.
In the final quarter, Spallone put an end to the four-goal Black Knight spree at 5:59, trailing 17-4. Neither team would find the net thereafter as Army took home its first Patriot League victory.
The Black Knights held the advantage in draw controls (15-10), ground balls (25-16), shots (47-12) and clears (15-16 to 16-29).

Lexie Coldiron made nine saves while her Army counterpart, Lindsey Serafine, made four.
Next up, the Leopards host American on Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. opening draw. The contest will serve as Mental Health Awareness Day.
