SPARTANBURG S.C. – The Lafayette baseball team dropped the middle game of a three-game series vs. Wofford, 16-2, on Saturday at Russell C. King Field.
Wofford seized control of the game with 10 runs in the third inning, scoring on a pair of two-run doubles, a two-run single and a pair of RBI-singles.
Wofford extended its advantage in the fifth with two home runs and a Lafayette error, to take a 16-0 lead.

Luke Caucci singled to load the bases for junior
Michael Mallas. Mallas slapped a two-run single to left field, cutting the Terriers' lead to 16-2, which would hold as the final tally.
For the Leopards, freshman
John Milewski pitched a career-high 3.0 innings, giving up just two hits while not allowing a run and striking out four.
Zac Cowan collected the win for the Terriers, pitching 5.2 innings while striking out 13. Freshman
Tristan Helmick took the loss after pitching 2.1 innings during which he gave up five runs on two hits with a strikeout.
The Leopards close out their series with Wofford on Sunday at 2 p.m.
