EASTON, Pa. - No. 20 Navy topped Lafayette 17-5 on Saturday morning in Fisher Stadium.
Overall, the Leopards were commanded by senior midfielder
Clare Culligan's three goals, three draw controls and one ground ball.
Navy's Emily Messinese and Kat McAteer each recorded six points with five goals and one assist to one goal and five assists, respectively.
The Mids netted three identical periods, outscoring the hosts 5-1 during the first, second and third period for a 15-3 advantage. Culligan collected the Leopards' initial pair of goals while sophomore attacker
Olivia Hover picked up the third.
Olivia Kelley opened the fourth quarter, assisted by
Kristin Igneri at 11:50, trailing 15-4. Culligan earned her hat trick at the three-minute mark before the Mids cemented the final outcome.
Navy held the advantage in draw controls (15-8), ground balls (28-21), shots (40-12) and clears (20-21 to 18-23).
Lafayette's senior goalkeeper
Lexie Coldiron made 10 saves while her Navy counterpart, Felicia Giglio, made five. Anne Culicerto and Emma Richardell also shared the net for Navy.
The Leopards conclude the regular season on Wednesday at Lehigh. The Rivalry match-up is slated for 6 p.m.
