LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lafayette dropped the second game of its three-game series with Bucknell, 15-3, on Saturday at Depew Field.
The Bison took the lead in the top of the first, scoring seven runs in the inning on an RBI-single, a two-run home run, a sac fly, a two-run triple and an RBI-double.
Lafayette responded in the second when senior
Justin Grech lined an RBI-double down the left field line that scored freshman
Teddy Cashman who reached on a fielder's choice, to make the tally 7-1.
The Leopards added two more runs in the top of the third, as senior
Blaze Fadio walked and then junior
Michael Zarrillo blasted a two-run home run to left field, to make the score 3-1. The home run was Zarrillo's sixth of the season.
Bucknell added to its lead in the bottom the third, scoring five runs in the frame, bringing the tally to 12-3. The Bison scored three more runs in the fifth.
Jake Schultz collected the win, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out three over six innings. Junior
Joe Skapinetz took the loss.
Lafayette concludes its series with Bucknell on Sunday at 1 p.m.
