EASTON, Pa. – The No. 22 Boston U. Terriers held the Lafayette offense in check on Saturday at Metzgar Fields, winning 6-0 and 12-0.

Game one was a pitchers' duel in the early going, as the Leopards'
Jacqueline Cal squared off with Allison Boaz. The teams were limited to just one hit over the first three innings, a BU double by Caitlin Coker in the first.

The Terriers slowly built a lead, scoring a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Coker hit a solo homer and was followed by RBI-doubles from Kayla Roncin and Boaz for the 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Lafayette put the first two batters of the inning on base via singles from
Olivia Catalina and
Paige Sandidge. The promising opportunity was stymied by Boaz who struck out the next three batters to end the threat.

The visitors broke open the game in the seventh, when Lizzy Avery delivered a three-run home run down the left field line to push the final to 6-0. Â

Boaz held Lafayette to three hits while striking out seven. Cal threw all seven inning, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits with a pair of K's.

Game two saw the Terriers break out for 11 runs over the first two innings en route to a 12-0 final in five innings.

Boston U. batted around the order in the first inning to score six runs on eight hits, including Boaz's two-run home run. She was at it again in the second inning, registering her second two-run home run of the game and stretching Boston's lead to 11-0.

Kasey Ricard limited Lafayette to one hit (a
Megan Coyle single in the fourth) while striking out nine. Leopard starter
Morrigan Gardiner gave up four runs in two-thirds of an inning in the loss.
Kailee Sawai tossed the final four innings, giving up four runs on four hits with a strikeout.
The teams will close out the series on Sunday at noon. Prior to the game, the Lafayette softball Class of 2024 will be honored.
