Lafayette Athletics Stands Out in Latest NCAA APR Release

10 teams secured perfect multi-year APR scores

EASTON, Pa. – On the 20th anniversary of NCAA Academic Progress Rate collection, Lafayette athletics continued to stand at the front of the pack. Nineteen of Lafayette's athletic programs measured in the NCAA's latest multi-year Academic Progress Rates (APR) matched or beat the national all-sport average (984).

Lafayette's overall APR score was 997, equaling the mark from 2023. Ten Leopard programs achieved perfect scores of 1000.

For Leopard women's teams, field hockey (992), softball (994), basketball (995), cross country (1000), lacrosse (993), soccer (996), swimming and diving (1000), tennis (1000), track and field (1000) volleyball (1000) all posted impressive scores.

For the Lafayette men's teams, baseball (1000), basketball (984), cross country (1000), golf (1000), lacrosse (998), soccer (996), swimming and diving (997), tennis (1000) and track and field (1000) all recorded multi-year APR scores well ahead of the NCAA's benchmark.

Five women's teams and five men's teams posted perfect scores. Those most recent multi-year APR scores are based on the scores from 2019-20 through 2022-23 and were released on May 4.

Each Division I team calculates its APR each academic year. Scholarship student-athletes receive one point each semester for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating. For non-scholarship teams, recruited student-athletes are tracked. Rates are an average of the past four years' performance and the most recent APR scores are multi-year rates based on the scores from the 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years. National aggregates are based on all teams with usable data at the time of analysis. Click through for the NCAA searchable database
