Myers Adds Haefele to Men’s Lacrosse Staff as Offensive Coordinator

2016 Nazareth alum has three previous collegiate coaching stops

EASTON, Pa. - Troy Haefele has joined the Lafayette men's lacrosse coaching staff and will serve as the offensive coordinator under seventh-year head coach Patrick Myers.

Haefele comes to Lafayette after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons as an assistant coach at Middlebury College where he helped lead the program to a pair of NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearances. Haefele coached eight USILA All-Americans during his time in Vermont.

"We are so excited to welcome Troy to the Lafayette lacrosse program. Troy has proven himself as one of the best and brightest offensive coordinators in Division III over the past eight years.  When you talk to people about Troy, they all say the same thing: he's a humble, relentless worker and recruiter, very bright and an excellent relationship builder," Myers said. "Having spent time with Troy in this process it became clear he was the choice to help elevate our offense to the next level as we enter the next phase of the Lafayette lacrosse rebirth. It's an exciting time for the program as we break ground on a new facility, welcome a very talented 2024 class to campus, and Troy's presence and willingness to be a part of the long-term vision here is incredibly exciting and refreshing."

Prior to Middlebury, Haefele spent five seasons (2018-22) coaching at his alma mater, Nazareth College. He was an assistant coach for four seasons before being named associate head coach for the 2022 campaign. In his final season at the Rochester, N.Y. school, the program ranked in the top 10 in the nation in goals, assists, points, shooting percentage and man-up percentage while racking up a program-record 307 goals.

Haefele broke into the coaching ranks in 2016-17, spending one season as an assistant coach at Dickinson College.

The native of Greene, Maine graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Nazareth in 2016, later earning a master's degree while an assistant coach at his alma mater. As a player, the four-time all-conference selection and All-American led his program to a pair of Empire 8 championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2015.
