EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette softball head coach Karavin Dew has resigned to accept a role outside of collegiate coaching. Assistant coach Kelliner Croushore has been named interim head coach for the 2025 campaign.
"I'd like to thank Karavin for her two seasons as Lafayette softball head coach and wish her the best of luck in her new role," said Lafayette Director of Athletics Sherryta Freeman. "We are excited to be able to have Kelliner Croushore step into the role as interim head coach. Kelliner is a veteran of the Patriot League, as a coach and a player, and brings head coaching experience to our program."
Dew departs College Hill with a 13-73-1 overall mark and a 5-31 clip in conference action.Â
In her first season, the Leopards captured the program's most Patriot League wins since 2017 and secured a conference series win for the first time since 2018. In year two, Mary Grace O'Neill set a Lafayette single-season record for stolen bases with 24, eclipsing a 40-year old mark while Lafayette placed a conference-best 18 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.Â
"I have appreciated my time and the opportunity as the head coach of Lafayette softball and want to thank each of these student-athletes for their commitment to the mission," Dew said. "I want to thank my assistant coaches, Bridget and Kelliner, for their tireless work and dedication. I wish the team well as the season gets underway."Â
Croushore is in her first season with the Leopards, arriving on College Hill after spending a year as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Holy Cross. Prior to that stint, Croushore spent five years at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif., initially serving as an assistant coach in 2018, before being named the interim head coach in 2020 and taking on the title full-time in 2021 with her first season at the helm in 2022.Â
Prior to Occidental, Croushore served as an assistant coach and assistant pitching coach at Georgetown University. From 2014-16, Croushore served in a similar role at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
Croushore was a four-year letterwinner at Holy Cross, starting 117 of 157 games played. The Claremont, Calif. native graduated from Holy Cross in 2014 with a degree in Sociology and went on to earn a master's degree in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown in 2018.
Lafayette softball returns from winter break for its first practice on Monday, with the team set to open play on Feb. 14 at the Camel Invitational at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
