Duncan, Hover and Siemonsen to Captain Women’s Lacrosse in 2026

Lafayette opens spring competition on Feb. 14

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette women's lacrosse and head coach Katie McConnell have named seniors Amelia Duncan, Olivia Hover and Jordan Siemonsen as captains for the 2026 season.

"This group has raised the standard for the Leopards," McConnell said. "With the full commitment of our team beside them, they will lead us into the upcoming season and help us reach new heights together."

In 2025, Duncan was a consistent starter for the Maroon and White and helped lead the defensive unit. The Alexandria, Va. native picked up 18 ground balls and caused nine turnovers.

"Being a captain is a great responsibility that I am honored to have. This team means the world to me and I am proud to lead such a hardworking and talented group," Duncan said. "As a captain, I strive to set the standard and push the Lafayette women's lacrosse team to prove what we are capable of doing."

Hover competed in all 16 games last season as an attacker who recorded 10 goals and one assist for 11 points. The Neuroscience major scored a hat trick against Central Connecticut State on March 5.

"Being a captain means being the first to step up, wearing Lafayette women's lacrosse with honor and always putting the team first," Hover said. "I am proud and beyond grateful to help lead this group of women who push me to be my best every day."

Siemonsen started in 16 games in 2025 as a defender. The New Fairfield, Conn. native recorded her first collegiate point on an assist against Lehigh on April 23. Since her freshman campaign, she has earned at least 20 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers per season.

"As a captain, I feel honored having the ability to lead such a strong group of young women who push each other to be better every day," Siemonsen said. "We are able guide the team through tough moments and celebrate every win. Our team is built on the idea of family, which allows us to be the people our teammates can rely on both on and off the field."

The Leopards released the spring schedule on Dec. 11 with non-conference play kicking off on Feb. 14 versus Merrimack.
