LEWISBURG, Pa. – Swimming and diving participated in the Bison Invite hosted by Bucknell on Saturday to complete regular season competition. The Leopards took on American, Bucknell, Lehigh, Navy, and Shippensburg, heading home with top-five finishes.
For the women, sophomore Daisy Decker enjoyed the victory in the 1650-yard freestyle with a final time of 18:02.96. Junior Isabella Van Ess captured second in the 1650-yard free with a time of 18:44.85 followed by classmate Emma Luttrell and senior Paige Griggs in third (18:45.08) and fourth (19:09.82), respectively.
Freshman Ever Ferguson reeled in second place in the 200-yard fly (2:07.23) while senior Grace Boghosian finished third (2:12.47). Freshman Meghan Robinson earned third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:25.78) and classmate Jillian Basile collected fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:26.44. Sophomore Abigail Bebel finished fifth in the 200-yard free (1:54.96).
Diving for the women, senior Shaylee Daniels garnered third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 247.25.
On the men's side, sophomore Alexander Zoldan set a new school record in the 1650-yard free with a time of 15:59.37, earning fifth place. Senior Timothy Jimenez secured fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:16.10.
Sophomore Alexander Reihl took home two fifth-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (57.48, 2:18.59). Junior Tommy Weber earned fifth in the 100-yard fly with a time of 50.28.
Diving for the men, sophomore Landon Orth collected second in the 3-meter dive and third in the 1-meter dive, finishing with 285.55 and 276.60 scores.
"We had a lot of swimmers shaved and suited for this meet. They performed very well and we're already looking forward to next season," said Lafayette head coach James Dailey.
"Thank you to our seniors who finished their college careers today," continued Dailey. "You were all great leaders and it's been a great four years."
The Maroon and White will return to Lewisburg, Pa. on Feb. 19-22 for the Patriot League Championships.
