EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette women's lacrosse secured a 12-10 victory over Robert Morris in the 2025 home opener at Fisher Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Sophia Spallone concluded the contest with a team-high four points from a trio of goals and an assist. Freshman
Sadie Martiesian also recorded a hat trick. The Colonials were paced by Jenna Irwin's six goals.
Lafayette took an initial 4-1 lead through the first quarter. The Leopards added three more goals, including two of Spallone's, by halftime to extend the advantage to 7-2.
The Maroon and White edged the opponents 4-3 through the third period, thanks to
Emma Elmen's tally with 1:23 remaining to stay on top, 11-5.
The Colonials ended the match with four unanswered goals, but The Leopards held on for a 12-10 final.
Robert Morris held the advantage in draw controls (16-10) and shots (29-25). The Leopards scooped up 20 ground balls to the Colonials' 18. Lafayette went 18-for-20 in clears with Robert Morris posting 14-of-15. The Maroon and White were 3-for-4 in free-position shots, while the opponents went 2-for-5.

Molly Terraciano made nine saves while her Colonial counterpart, Katarina Bottomley, stopped seven. Sydney Riker also shared the net for Robert Morris.
Next up, the Leopards will host Wagner next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
