CLEMSON, S.C. – East Carolina powered past Leopard softball, scoring seven runs over the third and fourth innings in an eventual 8-0 final on Saturday morning.
 
The Pirates scored a run in the first inning on a sac fly and held that lead until the third inning when they broke open the game. Morgan Johnson delivered a three-run home run and Annie Kate Dalton followed with a solo shot for the 5-0 lead.
 
ECU put away the game with three runs in the fourth inning, including a run-scoring single by Johnson, who finished the game with five RBI.
 
Parker Rowden was the Leopards' pitcher of record, allowing three earned runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Taylor Apple gave up just one hit to the Leopards, a two-out single by Mary Grace O'Neill in the third inning. Apple struck out five over three innings for the win.
 
Lafayette will close out the Tiger Invitational on Sunday at 10 a.m.
