CLEMSON, S.C. – East Carolina powered past Leopard softball, scoring seven runs over the third and fourth innings in an eventual 8-0 final on Saturday morning.

The Pirates scored a run in the first inning on a sac fly and held that lead until the third inning when they broke open the game. Morgan Johnson delivered a three-run home run and Annie Kate Dalton followed with a solo shot for the 5-0 lead.

ECU put away the game with three runs in the fourth inning, including a run-scoring single by Johnson, who finished the game with five RBI.

Parker Rowden was the Leopards' pitcher of record, allowing three earned runs on nine hits in 3.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Taylor Apple gave up just one hit to the Leopards, a two-out single by
Mary Grace O'Neill in the third inning. Apple struck out five over three innings for the win.
