EASTON, Pa. – Old Dominion used a hot start, including a 3-0 lead through the first quarter, to top Lafayette women's lacrosse 7-4 on Saturday afternoon at Fisher Stadium.
The visiting Monarchs never trailed in the game, guided by five different goal scorers. Alex Kulinski scored the first two goals of the game in the opening three minutes and Lydia Laney added another, as ODU led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Lafayette (3-2) got into the action five minutes into the second quarter when rookie
Sadie Martiesian found the back of the net. Old Dominion (5-2) answered at 4:40 on an unassisted tally to lead 4-1 at the intermission.

Kristin Igneri accounted for the Leopard goals, pulling Lafayette within one, 5-4, at the end of the third quarter.
Old Dominion added insurance goals from Sarah Murrell and Sydney Taylor in the final quarter to run the final to 7-4 and snap the Leopards' two-game win streak.
On the afternoon, Old Dominion held a slight advantage in draw controls, 8-6, while Lafayette out-dueled the Monarchs in ground balls (21-15). Leopard senior goalkeeper
Molly Terraciano stopped seven shots while her counterpart Brynn Bowen made eight saves in the net for the visitors.
Next up for the Leopards is a Wednesday 3 p.m. road trip to Central Connecticut State.
