Box Score WORCESTER, Mass.- Six Leopards contributed points in the women's lacrosse loss to Holy Cross, 15-4, on Saturday afternoon in the first conference game of the season.
Ella Kittredge, Isabela Miller and Sally Zinsner led the Patriot League foe with five points apiece, while freshman
Sadie Martiesian had a team-high two points for Lafayette.
The Crusaders outscored the Leopards 10-1 in the first half with Lafayette's tally by Spallone coming at 13:45 in the second period. Zinsner paced Holy Cross up to the halftime break with three goals and an assist.
Igneri scored the first goal of the third period at 12:21, assisted by
Haleigh Albrecht during a woman-up situation, to trail 10-2.
Holy Cross extended its advantage thereafter with a five-goal run that continued into the final quarter, leading 15-2 at 7:30.
Lafayette concluded the contest with two more scores at 5:01 and 3:41 from Martiesian and
Olivia Kelley, respectively.
Holy Cross held the advantage in draw controls (12-10), ground balls (21-11) and shots (36-18). The Leopards went 20-for-20 in clears compared to the Crusaders' 24-of-26.
Lafayette's senior goalkeeper
Molly Terraciano made 11 saves and her opposing counterpart, Mackenzie Creagh, made nine.
