DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Lafayette baseball team dropped its series finale at Davidson, 9-1, on Sunday at Wilson Field.
The Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the first. Eli Putman hit an RBI-single and Jack Cotrone and Cooper Collins both had two-run singles, making the score 5-0.
In the fifth, Lafayette loaded the bases with no one out on three consecutive singles by freshmen

Matt Colella hit an RBI-groundout, getting the Leopards on the board and making the score 5-1.
Davidson scored again in the sixth on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, and then scored two more runs in the seventh and one in the eighth in the 9-1 final.
Matt Weber earned the win. He did not give up a run in four innings while scattering two hits and striking out three. Brycen Champey collected the save for the Wildcats (3.1 IP, innings, 2 H, 1 K). Junior
Trace Florio allowed five runs on five hits over five innings with five strikeouts in the loss.
Next up, the Leopards travel to Richmond, Va. to take on UMass Lowell on Friday at 11 a.m. Â
