Barrist had two hits in Sunday finale

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Lafayette baseball team dropped its series finale at Davidson, 9-1, on Sunday at Wilson Field.

The Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the first. Eli Putman hit an RBI-single and Jack Cotrone and Cooper Collins both had two-run singles, making the score 5-0.

In the fifth, Lafayette loaded the bases with no one out on three consecutive singles by freshmen Alex Barrist and Aidan Crochier and senior Easton Brenner. Sophomore Matt Colella hit an RBI-groundout, getting the Leopards on the board and making the score 5-1.

Davidson scored again in the sixth on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch, and then scored two more runs in the seventh and one in the eighth in the 9-1 final.
