EASTON, Pa.- Boston U. used seven goals in the fourth quarter to take down Lafayette in a 17-8 women's lacroose final on Saturday afternoon at Fisher Stadium.
Senior attacker
Sara Rogers posted two goals and an assist for a team-high three points. The Terriers were led by Izabella Amonte and Elle Stevenson's four goals apiece to combine for eight points.
Annie Madden struck first for the Leopards at 13:20 in the first period. The visitors retaliated with a four-goal streak to earn a 5-1 lead after the initial 15 minutes of play.
Lafayette closed the gap to two, 5-3, by the seven-minute mark in the second quarter with tallies by
Olivia Kelley and
Olivia Hover.
The Terriers equalized afterwards, using a pair of free- position goals before halftime, keeping a 7-3 advantage.
Each program netted three goals in the third period as Boston continued ahead, 10-6. Lafayette's additions to the scoreline were from Madden (8:51), Rogers (6:52) and Spallone (3:53). Boston's came through Hannah Tillier, Kendall Sims and Avery Jones.
The Terriers outscored the Leopards 7-2 in the final quarter, including a four-goal run from 10:14 to 4:35, to take the 17-8 decision. Rogers, assisted by freshman
Sadie Martiesian, and Kelley recorded their second goals of the day at 10:54 and 3:41, respectively.
The Leopards held the advantage in draw controls (15-12), thanks to eight grabs by
Katie Marrs. Boston controlled ground balls (29-23) and shots (32-23). Lafayette made 15-of-17 clears, while the Terriers found success on 22-of-24 attempts.

Molly Terraciano made seven saves, while her BU counterpart, Natalie Aiosa, made nine.
Next up, the Leopards travel to American on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
