Baseball travels to Rival Lehigh for a Weekend Series

The first game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start on Friday

Leading Off
The Lafayette Nine continues Patriot League play, traveling to rival Lehigh for a four-game series starting on Friday. The Leopards won the season series last year, winning three of the five meetings between the two squads. The Maroon and White lead the all-time series that started in 1866, 217-171-2.
 
Preseason Honors
Junior Ethan Swidler was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team. Last year, the 2024 First-Team All-Patriot League selection batted a team-best .327, along with clubbing nine home runs. Swidler was also selected as the Preseason Patriot League Player of the Year by D1Baseball.com
 
Patriot League Awards
Senior outfielder Easton Brenner earned Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week honors on Feb. 17. Brenner batted .700 (7-for-10) during the Leopards' series at Southern Miss. The Houston, Texas. native had five RBIs, seven hits, three doubles, a home run and he reached base 11 times in Hattiesburg. The Economics and Policy Studies major slugged 1.300 and recorded a .781 on-base percentage on the week.
 
The Leopards
On Sunday, the Leopards defeated Holy Cross in the second game of a doubleheader, earning their first Patriot League win of the season. The Maroon and White were led by sophomore Matt Colella, who had four hits and two RBIs. Senior Easton Brenner recorded three hits and freshman Jack Mislan drove in three runs. Sophomore Owen Basso earned his first collegiate win, working 4.2 scoreless innings and striking out six. Brenner leads Lafayette with a with a .355 batting average and 19 RBIs while junior Ethan Swidler is batting .352 and has three home runs.

Next Up
The Leopards travel to Penn for a Liberty Bell Classic game on Tuesday at 3 p.m., and then head to Navy on April 5 for a doubleheader.
 
The Mountain Hawks
Lehigh enters the weekend with a 10-10 record and a 1-3 mark in the Patriot league. The Mountain Hawks are paced by a pair of juniors, Owen Walewander and Aidan Quinn. Walewander is batting a team-best .317 with two home runs and 15 RBIs, while Quinn has a .311 average along with a home run and 19 RBIs. Liam O'Hearen has a 3-1 record in 22.0 innings pitched, along with sporting a 2.05 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
