Leading Off
The Maroon and White venture to Bucknell for a Patriot League series against the Bison. The three-game set takes place before the Leopards return to Easton for a five-game homestand. The series has been shifted to a single game on Saturday at 1 p.m. and a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon.Â
Last Time Out
Colgate hosted Lafayette on April 4-6 for a weekend series in Hamilton, N.Y.. Game one of the Friday doubleheader belonged to the Leopards, courtesy of Makayla Lecky, Mary Grace O'Neill and Dani Rosner. Lecky whirled a complete game, allowing just three Colgate batters to collect hits. With two outs in the visitors' half of the second inning, O'Neill connected for a base knock to center to bring home two runs. Rosner, a transfer from Colgate, slapped a ball back up the middle to plate O'Neill, securing a three-run lead and a 3-2 victory. The second Friday matchup went the way of the hosts, as Colgate captured a 7-5 decision. The Raiders jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Colgate's Lily Haluska launched a two-run home run over the outfield wall. The Maroon and White countered in the top of the third, scoring five runs. Lafayette starter Parker Rowden made it to the fifth inning before allowing four Colgate runs in an eventual 7-5 final. Colgate claimed the series finale, 6-2, utilizing a four-run second inning. O'Neill managed three hits in the game.Â
Clearing The Bases
Senior catcher Maggie Klug ranks second on the team in RBIs with 10. The Memphis, Tenn. native batted in three of her teammates against Colgate. This season, Klug claims a .238 average to go along with a pair of doubles and four walks.
On the Run
With 33 career stolen bases, Mary Grace O'Neill needs just one more theft to advance to third place all-time at Lafayette. That spot is occupied by Gwen Turner '12, who swiped 34 bags in four seasons.Â
Fantastic Freshmen
Freshmen Emma Ahlborn and Caroline Hall have been mainstays in the Leopard lineup since the beginning of the season. Ahlborn is tied for second on the team in batting average, adding in a double, a triple and eight RBIs. Hall finds herself ranked second on the team in doubles (7) while tallying seven RBIs and four stolen bases.
