EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette baseball team dropped its series finale against Navy, 11-7, on Monday afternoon at Kamine Stadium.Â
The Leopards were led by senior
Easton Brenner, who raised his batting average to a league-best .372 after clubbing an RBI-double and an RBI-triple against the Mids.
Navy took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, scoring on a sac fly by Evan Brown and an RBI-groundout by Andrew Manning. The Leopards tied the game, 2-2, in the bottom of the frame on an RBI-double by senior

The Mids took control of the game in the early going, scoring seven runs over the second and third innings to make the tally 9-2. Navy used RBI-singles by Brock Murtha and Henry Mitchell, two two-run singles by Mason Ceccarelli and Tristan Rucker and a wild-pitch to take the lead.Â
Lafayette responded with two runs in the bottom of the third. Brenner ripped an RBI-triple to right field and Colella drove in another run on an RBI-groundout to pull the Leopards within 9-4. In the fourth, freshman
Liam Ebbs made it 9-5 on a solo home run to right field. Junior
Ethan Swidler sliced an RBI-single to right field in the sixth to cut the Navy lead to 9-6.
Navy countered with a run in the top of the seventh on an RBI-single to center field by Victor Izquierdo to bring the score to 10-6. Lafayette plated another run in the bottom of the inning on a Navy error, bringing the score to 10-7.
The Mids added another run in the ninth on a solo home run by Manning, which made the final score 11-7.
John Carroll earned the win, working 3.1 innings, surrendering two runs on four hits and striking out three. Landon Kruer collected the save, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings and recording three strikeouts.
Tristan Helmick allowed seven runs on six hits over 2.1 innings with a strikeout in the loss.
The Leopards are next in action when they host rival Lehigh on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
