Women’s Lacrosse Bested by No. 17 Loyola Maryland

Leopards return to action next Saturday for Senior Day

Box Score BALTIMORE, Md.- The No. 17 Greyhounds advanced to a NCAA Division I record 90-straight regular-season conference victories after controlling Saturday afternoon's outing against Lafayette women's lacrosse. Loyola claimed a 17-4 decision at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

Loyola's Gabby Stapleton (3) and Georgia Latch (2) contributed to a 6-0 first-quarter lead.

The Leopards held the Greyhounds to just three more goals in the second period, using four saves by senior goalkeeper Molly Terraciano, to trail 9-0 at the halftime break.

Senior attacker Haleigh Albrecht put an end to the host's unanswered streak at 12:29 in period three. The Wexford, Pa. native, assisted by Sara Rogers, sent a rocket from the right side of the inner arc.

Latch retaliated with two goals in four minutes for her fifth tally of the game, propelling the opponents into another 5-0 run to end the quarter up 14-1.

Freshman Evelyn Guyer recorded her second career goal to open the final 15 minutes of play, 14-2 at 14:13. Isabelle Pohmer added the Leopards' third score of the afternoon at 8:30, a free-position shot to shorten the gap to 12, 16-3, despite Loyola interjecting after both goals.

Guyer netted another goal to conclude the contest at 2:32, assisted by Kristin Igneri in the 17-4 final.

The hosts held the advantage in draw controls (22-2), ground balls (20-14), shots (44-14) and clears (14-15 to 18-24).

Lafayette's Terraciano made 12 saves in the loss while her Greyhound counterparts, Lauren Spence (5), Kennedy Buntrock (1) and Makenzie Butler, combined for six.
