Linda Nova and junior
Stella Malinowski helped Lafayette defeat Fairfield 2-0 during the 2025 season opener on Friday evening at Rappolt Field.
During the first quarter (9:07), Nova sent a short drive into the net to give the Maroon and White an early advantage. The assist was credited to
Josephine van Wijk, who stole the ball from a Stag defender.
Senior goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni made a stop against a Fairfield penalty stroke at 4:23 in the initial period to keep the score 1-0 for Lafayette.
The Leopards' second goal came at 20:33 in the following quarter, a penalty stroke by Malinowski.
Fairfield held the advantage in total shots (16-10) and penalty corners (8-2).
Lafayette's Fragomeni made five saves in the shutout victory. Her Stag counterpart, Payton Rahn, also made five saves.
The Leopards remain at home to face Drexel on Sunday at noon for the Morgan's Message game.
