Leopards Compete at Penn Invite

Morse won 13 bouts for Lafayette

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Lafayette fencing team returned from winter break to participate in the Penn Invite on Saturday at Micahnik Fencing Center.

The Leopards competed in matches against NYU, Temple, Duke, Penn, Sacred Heart, UCSD, Johns Hopkins and Temple.

The women were paced by sophomore epee Hilla Wetherill, who won 10 bouts. Freshman foil Zoe Lenz recorded five wins, while both sophomore sabre Makenna McCall and freshman foil Cora Davia won two bouts each.

The men were led by junior epee Tyler Morse, who ended the day winning 13 bouts. Sophomore sabre Jordan Ginsberg had seven victories and sophomore sabre Nikita Kogan recorded five wins. Freshman sabre Ryan Leibowitz and freshman foil William Nicoll won three and two bouts, respectively.

The Lafayette fencing team continues its season Feb. 1, traveling to Baltimore, Md. for the MACFA A vs. C.
