Leopards Drop 2-1 Decision in Boston

Biegon nets third goal of the season

BOSTON, Mass. – Lafayette men's soccer opened the scoring early Friday night, but Boston U rallied for a 2-1 Patriot League victory at Nickerson Field.

The Leopards struck just three minutes into the contest when senior forward Roy Biegon pounced on a defensive error from the Terriers and found the back of the net for his first goal of the evening, giving Lafayette an early 1-0 advantage.

The hosts responded in the 40th minute. Andrea Di Blasio finished a combination from Sebastian Otero and Ben Bagshaw to even the score at 1-1 heading into halftime.

The Terriers took the lead less than three minutes into the second half. Bagshaw scored in the 47th minute off an assist from Otero to put Boston U. ahead 2-1.

Lafayette earned five corner kicks in the second half pushing for an equalizer in the closing stages. Samir Dishnica tested the Terriers goalkeeper Ben Alexander twice in the final 16 minutes, but Alexander made both saves to preserve the Terriers' advantage.

Harrison Wolfrom recorded nine saves for the Leopards, while Alexander finished with two stops for Boston University. The Terriers held a 22-11 advantage in shots, including an 11-3 edge in shots on goal.

Lafayette will conclude their regular season at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in a matchup against Lehigh at home.
