No. 15 Field Hockey Set to Host 2026 Patriot League Championship

Lafayette clinches program’s first regular-season crown since 2012

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lafayette claimed the Patriot League regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the 2026 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship after a 2-0 victory over Boston University on Friday night. The regular-season finale extended the Leopards' win streak to six games, including an undefeated home (10-0) and conference (6-0) record.

Head coach Jennifer Stone and the top-seeded Leopards (15-2, 6-0 PL) earned the regular-season crown for the first time since 2012 and will host the four-team championship at Rappolt Field in Easton, Pa.

The Maroon and White will host a No. 4 Holy Cross squad led by first-year head coach Kim Cosenza. Cosenza and the Crusaders are making the program's first trip to the postseason since the spring 2021 season. Holy Cross clinched a berth in the four-team field after a 2-1 shootout victory over American on Oct. 25. The Leopards and Crusaders will open the semifinal round at noon on Thursday, Nov. 5.

American (10-7, 4-2 PL) earned the No. 2 seed with a 4-0 win over Lehigh on Saturday. Boston University (8-9, 4-2 PL) and Holy Cross (9-6, 3-3 PL) clinched the third and fourth seeds, respectively.
Head coach Steve Jennings and second-seeded American made the Patriot League Championship field for the 26th straight season and will take on the defending Patriot League champion, No. 3 Boston University. The Terriers are led by Sarah Shute, in her first season at the helm of the Boston University program. The Eagles and Terriers meet at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5.

Both of Thursday's semifinal round matches and Saturday's Patriot League Field Hockey Championship Match will be available live on ESPN+, with Justin Rocke calling play-by-play. For more information on the 2026 Patriot League Field Hockey Championship, visit Championship Central.
