EASTON, Pa. – Senior midfielder
Nadia Zaffanella was named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Midfielder of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon, for her play in matches versus Bucknell and Boston U.
In Lafayette's first match of the week against Bucknell, Zaffanella played a full 90 minutes and recorded two shots, one of which was on goal.
The Ellington, Conn. native scored her fifth goal of the season in the 80th minute against Boston U., which equalized the match, 1-1. Just six minutes later, Zaffanella threaded a pass to
Heather Plowright, that led to the game-winning goal. The Leopards defeated the Terriers, 2-1. Zaffanella's score was the 22nd of her career, moving the economics major up to fourth place on the program's all-time career goals list.
This is the senior's second Patriot League weekly award of the 2026 season, after previously being named the 2026 Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year, a 2025 All-Patriot League First-Team selection and the 2023 Patriot League Rookie of the Year. Zaffanella has also earned numerous Patriot League Rookie of the Week and Patriot League Player of the Week selections during her time on College Hill.
The Maroon and White return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday, traveling to Holy Cross.
