SPARKS GLENCOE, Md. - Lafayette put up nine goals in the second half, but fell just short in a 15-13 outcome to George Washington during Wednesday afternoon's neutral site contest.
Isabelle Pohmer fueled the Leopards' outing with three goals and three draw controls.

Olivia Kelley each added a pair of tallies. George Washington featured two athletes, Parker Febo and Grace Curry, with six goals apiece. Mia Milkowski crafted a team-high four assists.
The Revolutionaries jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first period; three scores came from Curry in that time.
George Washington pushed the advantage to 10-4 at the halftime break with a 5-3 second-quarter edge.
Three Leopard goals were bookended by two sets of two tallies from the opponents in the third period with the Revolutionaries extending the lead to seven, 14-7.
George Washington was held to one goal to start the final quarter (13:54) before Lafayette went on the offensive with a 6-0 run. Six different players contributed, including
Annie Madden and
Bailey Gurley, to get as close as two in the 15-13 decision.
Lafayette held the advantage in draw controls (21-9) and shots (38-32), while George Washington took charge of ground balls (20-17).
Senior goalkeeper
Kennedy Carr made two saves before splitting the net with
Sophie Clark, who made four. GW goalie Gabi Greth also saved four shots on goal.
The Leopards return to conference action on Saturday at Boston U. at 3:30 p.m.
