LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell outlasted Lafayette women's lacrosse, 15-8, on Friday evening at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
Senior attacker
Kristin Igneri notched a team-high three points on one goal and two assists. The Syosset, N.Y. native picked up three ground balls and one draw control while causing one turnover.
Bucknell's Megan Krestinski commanded the hosts with two goals and three assists for five points.
The Leopards held the Bison off until 9:55 in the first period, as Katie Browne gave the opponents a 1-0 lead. Lafayette's
Georgia Swarr evened the game, 1-1, around a minute later (8:30) using a free-position goal. Bucknell added another pair of goals for a 3-1 advantage by the first break.
The hosts extended the gap to 4-1 by the 11-minute mark of the second quarter with Browne's second goal of the day. Lafayette's
Olivia Hover used a spin in the arc to cut the deficit in half, 4-2 at 9:42.
The Bison used two more scorers to claim a 7-3 upper hand at the halftime buzzer.

Kristin Igneri around the crease, had the Leopards last tally of the half at 2:24.
Each program added one goal to get under five minutes into the third period with Bucknell pacing the game 8-4. The Bison began to pull away thereafter, making a 5-1 run to get to a 13-5 hold.
Bucknell closed out the game on top, despite the Leopards outscoring the team 3-2 in the remaining 15 minutes.

The Maroon and White held the advantage in draw controls (19-6) while Bucknell controlled the ground balls (31-14), shots (35-25) and clears (19-28 to 12-17).
Lafayette's senior goalkeeper
Kennedy Carr made seven saves in the contest. Her Bison counterparts, Bella Crowley and Julia Dembowitz, made seven and one, respectively.
Next up, the Leopards host Navy on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
