WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Led by freshman Viktor Kofod-Olsen, Lafayette secured a first-place finish at the Cottrell Invitational, hosted by West Chester. The Leopards turned in rounds of 295 and 306 to finish with a 41-over-par 601. Rider (605) and St. Thomas Aquinas (606) finished in second and third, respectively.
Kofod-Olsen paced the Leopards with a six-over-par 146. Over two rounds, the Dubai, United Arab Emirates native (72-74) collected nine birdies to land in third. Kofod-Olsen concluded the event just two strokes out of first.
Classmate Chris Vahey rested in a tie for fifth place after a final-round 76. Over two days at the par-70 Penn Oaks Golf Club, Vahey carded an eight-over-par 148. Junior Winston Kelenc-Blank (t-8) finished two spots behind Vahey with a 10-over-par 150. Reed Theiss (77-80) fell just outside the top 25, concluding the event in 27th. Hudson Pace (t-56) turned in a final-round 84 to shoot 167.
Harrison Browne and Valdemar Kofod-Olsen participated as individuals for the Maroon and White. Browne (159) finished in a tie for 37th, while Kofod-Olsen rested in 56th after carding a 27-over-par 167.
West Chester's William Hilton claimed medalist laurels after turning in a final-round 72 to shoot a 144.
Lafayette returns home to Easton to host the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational on April 12-13.
