Sweet Earns Academic All-Patriot League Laurels

Economics major helped the Leopards make the PLT for the first time since 2012

EASTON, Pa. - Softball's Kylee Sweet was named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team on Wednesday afternoon.

The Economics major was a key factor for the Leopards in her senior season. Starting at first base in every game in 2026, Sweet led the Maroon and White in batting average (.349), OPS (.951) and OBP (.428). The All-Patriot League Second-Team honoree put together the best spring of her career on College Hill to help guide Lafayette to the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2012.

Sweet is a Dean's List student, Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection and an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. The Escondido, Calif. native is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a member of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society for Economics and the Women in Economics Club.

To be eligible for Academic All-Patriot League honors, student-athletes must have a 3.2 or better cumulative GPA while being a starter or a key reserve. Sweet will graduate with a degree in Economics and a minor in Data Science with a certificate in Financial Policy and Analysis. She plans to pursue a career in financial analysis/financial advising.

Fourth-seeded Lafayette will open Patriot League Tournament play on Thursday at top-seeded host Boston U. at noon. Depending upon the outcome, Lafayette will play either Colgate or Army at 11 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Friday, as part of the event's double-elimination format.
