SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In the final matchup of a three-game road trip, Lafayette fell to Le Moyne 3-0 due to an early offensive outburst by the hosts.
The Dolphins scored three times in the opening 24 minutes of Tuesday night's contest. In the 11th minute, Felix Ludemann converted a penalty kick to take a 1-0 advantage. The Dolphins extended their lead in the 18th minute when Rhys Allport found the back of the net off a crossed assist from Ludemann.
Le Moyne added another goal in the 24th minute. Myles Palmer scored off assists from Oli Karbownik and Anthony Patone for a 3-0 Dolphin advantage.
Lafayette continued to create opportunities after halftime. In the 61st minute, forward Riley Martin rocketed a volley that was cleared by the dolphin defenders. Joseph Lee then followed that up by ripping a long-range shot that forced Le Moyne goalkeeper Wyatt Dupell into a save. Cole Duschang also put a shot on target in the 89th minute, but Dupell rose to the occasion once again halting the Leopards' offensive push.Â
Wolfrom played all 90 minutes in goal for Lafayette and made three saves. Dupell also played the full match and recorded three saves to earn the shutout.Â
The Leopards are back in Easton on Saturday to face Holy Cross at 1 p.m. for the annual Alumni Day.
