EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at Mike Bourger '44 Field on Alumni Day.

The teams played through a scoreless opening half, with Lafayette creating one of its best chances in the 31st minute. Tommy Clark sent a powerful header toward the goal that forced Holy Cross goalkeeper Caleb Klepacz to fully extend for the save.

In the 68th minute, Samir Dishnica nearly broke the scoreless tie when he ripped a long-range set piece toward the top left corner, but Holy Klepacz dove for another stop.

The Leopards broke through in the 76th minute when senior Griffin Feather passed to Joseph Lee who chipped Klepacz from about 20 yards out giving Lafayette a 1-0 lead.

Holy Cross answered less than a minute later when Archie Hatcher converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute to even the score.

Lafayette had a chance to regain the lead in the 79th minute after Samir Dishnica drew a penalty kick, but Klepacz turned away the attempt. Both teams pushed until the end, but to no avail. Defenses prevailed with the game ending in a 1-1 draw.

Harrison Wolfrom matched his career high with seven saves in goal for the Leopards, while Klepacz finished with five saves for the Crusaders.

The Maroon and White return to the pitch next Saturday when they travel to Colgate for a 5 p.m. match with the Red Raiders.
