EASTON, Pa. - Through the highs and lows of the 2026 season, the Lafayette men's soccer team continued to find ways to compete, deliver memorable performances and put itself in position for another postseason opportunity.
The Leopards (4-9-4, 3-3-3 Patriot League) secured the No. 5 seed in the Patriot League Tournament, capping the regular season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Lehigh on Nov. 3 at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
The regular-season finale provided perhaps the most memorable moment of the campaign. Lafayette took an early lead when senior forward Roy Biegon headed home a cross from Beaux Lizewski in the eighth minute. After Lehigh equalized just before halftime, Samir Dishnica restored the Lafayette advantage in the 50th minute, finishing a through ball from Thomas Clark.
What followed was a remarkable defensive effort. After receiving two red cards in the second half, the Leopards were forced to play the final 28 minutes with nine players. Sophomore goalkeeper Harrison Wolfrom rose to the occasion, making 13 saves, including a penalty kick stop in the 78th minute, to preserve the rivalry victory and clinch Lafayette's postseason berth.
The victory was a fitting reflection of a season that featured contributions from throughout the lineup. Lafayette opened the year with a 3-2 win over Binghamton and added Patriot League victories over Army West Point and Loyola Maryland. Wolfrom and sophomore defender Lucas Gardeniers also earned Patriot League weekly honors, with Wolfrom recognized as Goalkeeper of the Week and Gardeniers earning Defender of the Week recognition.
Now, the Leopards turn their attention to the postseason, where another Rivalry meeting awaits. Fifth-seeded Lafayette travels to Bethlehem on Saturday, Nov. 7, to face fourth-seeded Lehigh in the Patriot League quarterfinal round. The 6 p.m. kickoff marks a rematch of the 2025 Patriot League Championship game and comes just four days after Lafayette's dramatic regular-season victory.
Saturday's elimination match sets the stage for the Cardiac Leopards to do what they do best. A win propels Lafayette into the Patriot League semifinals and keeps their championship quest alive.
