EASTON, Pa. —
Nadia Zaffanella notched a two-goal performance, as the Lafayette women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against La Salle on Thursday evening at Mike Bourger Field at Oaks Stadium.
Zaffanella got Lafayette on the board early, striking in the 17th minute to put the Leopards ahead 1-0. La Salle responded early in the second half when Justyce Hollenbach converted a penalty kick in the 50th minute following a foul in the box by goalkeeper
Catherine Apker.
The Leopards reclaimed the lead in the 78th minute as
Eva Hautefeuille set up Zaffanella for her second tally of the match. However, the Explorers found a late equalizer in the 89th minute on another goal from Hollenbach to force the 2-2 draw.
Apker spent all 90 minutes in net for Lafayette, making seven saves. Samantha Widnick played the full 90 minutes in goal for La Salle, recording one save.
Lafayette's offense generated three shots, with
Alle Hughes registering the team's only other shot on goal beside Zaffanella's two scoring strikes.
Lafayette will return to action traveling to Drexel on Sunday at 3 p.m.
