Methoxha led Lafayette with three shots

EASTON, Pa. — The Lafayette women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Patriot League foe Bucknell on Wednesday evening at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.

Early in the match, Bucknell netted the lone goal of the contest at the 12th minute mark when Katie Connell converted a penalty kick following a Lafayette foul in the box comitted by Gaby Parker, to give the Bison a 1-0 lead.

Lafayette generated chances throughout the match, putting three of its five total shots on goal. Era Methoxha led the Leopard attack with three shot attempts, forcing two saves. Nadia Zaffanella added two shots, putting one on mark.

Defensively, Lafayette was led by Eva Acker and Ava Fix, who both played the full 90 minutes and kept the Bucknell offensive attack scoreless in the second half.

In net, Catherine Apker played all 90 minutes and recorded five saves on 13 shots faced for Lafayette, while Sarah McFarland stopped all three shots on goal she faced  for Bucknell.
