Box Score

LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's soccer team was able to outlast Bucknell on Saturday to walk away the 3-2 victor in the Patriot League matchup. The victory is the Leopards' first in Patriot League competition this season.

In a game that saw the lead change hands three times, Lafayette earned the victory on a game-winning goal by its Patriot League leading goal scorer, Emily Myers (Hershey, Pa./Hershey). Meghan Ramsey (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) assisted on the Myers score.

Myers finished the game with two goals, the earlier one coming at the 39:00 mark, and bumped her season goal total to 15.

Lafayette (10-6, 1-3) jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a 10-yard strike in front of the goal by freshman Miriam Habeeb (Westfield, N.J./Kent Place School) early in the first half. The Bison (7-7-1, 3-2-1) came back with goals from freshman Kristie Simon and senior Kristen Erb to take the lead but Myers came back to tie the contest entering the intermission and the Leopards secured the victory.

Lafayette outshot Bucknell 20-10 in the contest as Leopard sophomore goal keeper Ashley Wesmiller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) had two saves in the win. Bucknell's Laurie Purse had a big day in the cage, recording 13 saves.

Lafayette will return home to prepare for back-to-back Patriot League matchups, hosting Holy Cross on Oct. 28 and Colgate three days later.
