EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Fans and the media got their first chance to see the 2000-01 installment of the Lafayette men's basketball team in action on Monday. Lafayette, which is tied for the 13th longest home winning streak in the nation at 13 games, didn't disappoint the Kirby Sports Center attendees, winning 101-64 over the Pennsylvania Sundance All-Stars in an exhibition game.

Four players scored in double figures for the Leopards, who are coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and three straight Patriot League regular-season titles. Junior Reggie Guy led the way with 14 points. Freshman Winston Davis, who missed nearly all of 1999-2000 while injured, scored 12 points, all of them of the three-point variety. Davis got the start for Lafayette which employed a three-guard offense at the start of the game.

Senior Frank Barr moved into the starting spot vacated by the graduation of Stefan Ciosici and posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Mick Kuberka added a quiet 10 points off the bench.

Senior co-captain Tim Bieg contributed as he has in the past, distributing the ball for a game-high eight assists.

Lafayette was without the services of senior guard Tyson Whitfield who missed the game due to injury.

Three players scored in double figures for Sundance with former Villanova star Gary Massey leading the way with 14 points.

For the game, Lafayette shot 55 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc.

Lafayette opens the ragular season on Saturday at Cornell. The game reunites two former Pennsylvania assistants in Lafayette head coach Fran O'Hanlon and first-year Cornell head coach Steve Donahue.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. and can be heard live through the GoLeopards.com Audio/Visual page.
