Baseball Drops First Game in Florida

HOMESTEAD, FL - In the opening game of their annual Spring trip, the Leopards fell to Marist College 18-12 at the Homestead Sports Complex in Homestead, FL. Lafayette cut a ten run deficit to four, before eventually dropping in a game that saw 37 hits between the two teams, Lafayette cut a ten run deficit to four, but could not manage to complete the comeback.

Starter Ross Butler had his toughest outing to date, allowing twelve earned runs in just an inning and two thirds. The comeback was fueled by sophomores Vince D'Angelis and Jon Kline, each of whom had four for five performances at the plate. In addition, D'Angelis added 4 RBI's and continued his stellar defensive work in the field. With the loss, Butler drops to 0-2 and the team falls to 0-4.
