Lafayette Drops To Dartmouth

March 14, 2000

Box Score

Homestead, FL - In the first half of a Wednesday double header, Lafayette hung tough for seven innings before a collective pitching collapse provided Dartmouth what it needed in a disappointing 10-1 defeat. Three pitchers were needed to complete an eighth inning that saw five walks, four hits and seven runs scored, spoiling an otherwise exceptional performance by freshman Matt Tambellini. Tambellini pitched the first seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits in his first college start. Conor Brooks went the distance for Dartmouth, walking none and striking out eleven. Lafayette managed little luster at the plate, with the sole exception of shortstop Vince D'Angelis, who continued his early season tear with a three for four day.
