The Lafayette softball team opened its season with a rough start, losing to Drexel 9-0.
Senior pitcher Erin Hall only allowed two earned runs in four innings, however the Leopards' defense struggled, comitting five errors to
allow Drexel to gain a comfortable lead.
Drexel pitcher Candace Clark, one of the leading strikeout pitchers in the country last season, earned the win, holding the Lafayette
offense to just three hits in five innings of play. Mara Shanheit, Kelly Wise and Erin Allison led the Leopards with one hit apiece.
Drexel's offense was led by second baseman Cassie Snow, who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and a homerun.
