March 4, 1999

Box Score

FORKS TOWNSHIP, PA - In the second part of a Saturday double-dip, the Catamounts scored three in the first and two each in the second and third innings en route to a 16-2 victory.

Lafayette starter Scott Dennisstruggled early with his control, allowing nine runs, six earned, on only five Vermont hits over three innings.

Highlighting the game for Lafayette was the sparkling defensive play of sophomore shortstop Vince D'Angelis, but in the end the day belonged to Vermont starter Trevor Marcotte, whose no-hit bid remained intact until Jason Moll's double with none out in the sixth. With his effort Marcotte notched his first win of the season, while Dennis picked up his first loss.
