FORKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -
Freshman Becky Foley (Jamison, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) went 3-for-3 and catcher Gina Galati
belted her second homerun of the season, a three-run shot, but it wasn't enough to overcome
the top team in the league as Lafayette (4-16, 2-6 PL) dropped to Lehigh (21-19, 7-1 PL) in
the second game of a doubleheader, 13-5 in five innings.
Lafayette, down just 2-0 after two innings, gave up seven runs in the top of the third. Only
two of the Mountain Hawks runs in the third were earned, as the Leopards had two misplays.
Lafayette tried to respond in the bottom half of the inning, as Galati displayed her
opposite field power with a 225 foot shot to right center. But her three run bomb wasn't enough
as the Leopards gave up four in the top half of the next inning and only answered with two, giving
Lehigh the requisite eight run lead to end the game after five innings.
The Leopards travel to Villanova on Tuesday, before wrapping up the Patriot League regular
season on Friday, with a home doubleheader against last year's league champion, Colgate.
